Firefox Mobile gets official emblem

Mozilla, the organization that manages the development and community collaboration for the Firefox web browser, has started developing a mobile version of its Mozilla Firefox web browser a while back. The Mobile Firefox version, officially know as Fennec, started out with a Windows Mobile version of the web browser. A version for the upcoming Nokia N900 connected phone that runs the new Maemo 5 mobile platform is also under development. In line with Mozilla’s thrust into the mobile space it has just announced the winner of its “Firefox goes mobile” design challenge. The winner is the PocketFox design by Yaroslaff Chekunov who hails from Russia.

Four runners-up in the challenge were Brazilian Mauro Henrique de Bulhões Fidelix’s “Hot Navigation”, Filipino Emmanuel John Y. Villar’s “One Mask One Family One World”, Dutch Joyce Schellekens’ “Firefox All Around the World” and Indonesian Eric Yeoung’s “MobiFox”.

Mozilla has also recently launched its “Five Years of Firefox” design challenge in celebration of Firefox’s 5th birthday. You can find out more about the challenge here.
