Compared to the iPhone mobile platform, the Android open mobile platform still has fewer mobile games available on the Android Market. But in spite of the fewer number of mobile games on Android, one of the free mobile game I love playing on my Samsung Spica is Air Control.
The Air Control mobile game’s objective is pretty simple — manage to land as many aircraft (planes and helicopters) in an airport. The Android based mobile game offers several landing strip / airport scenarios. In all of them, you have to deal with two types of airplanes (one big and one small) and helicopters.
These aircrafts will randomly appear from different places along the edges of you Android based phone’s screen. As they appear on the screen, you have to guide them to a landing strip by drawing a flight path using your finger. You have to manage the flight paths of the different aircrafts so that they won’t have to collide with each other similar to the way an aircraft control tower would direct aircrafts in an airport. One distinct difference though is that you don’t have to deal with altitudes in this mobile game
The number of aircrafts that you successfully guide to a successful landing before any collision incident takes place will determin your score / ranking. Ranks range from trainee, co-pilot, pilot … You can submit you achievement to an online scoreboard and compare rankings with other game players.
The Air Control Android game for mobile phones is free. The developer gets some sort of renumeration by displaying ads during the game if it is available to connect to the Internet so be careful about your data connection charges if you don’t have an unlimited data plan. Aside from that, the mobile game is actually fun to play most especially if you’re trying to kill some time.
