15 minute video of Nokia N97

It looks like the upcoming Nokia N97 mobile phone is getting sexier and sexier as the release date comes near. The specs for the Nokia N97 looks great. It also includes a physical keyboard along with the specs that you’d expect in a connected phone. This Nokia N97 will be the second phone that Nokia is releasing that uses it’s touch technology. The first one being the Nokia XpressMusic 5800. Many thanks to tnkgrl for posting the video of the Nokia N97.

Display resolutions for a truly connected phone

When I sat down to think about what I would consider to be a connected phone, I came into the conclusion that the mobile phone that is well connected should also have a high resolution screen. I’ve had a Nokia N80 and it had such a great display. Using a phone with such a high resolution that produces crisp and sharp text and images is a contributing factor to a great connected phone. It was sad that Nokia never really followed up on having phones with a high resolution out on the market.

Blackberry Storm 2 on Verizon is getting wifi

Slashgear is reporting that the next generation Blackberry Storm 2 mobile phone devices will be getting wifi. Blackberry, a mobile phone line created by RIM, has been popular among business users because of its strong support for enterprise messaging infrastructures. It looks like the new Blackberry Storm 2 is gearing up to be a consumer device.

T-Mobile G1, G2 — now it's G3 coming soon

Europe is so cool! Well not only do I love all the beautiful places in Europe but they also get to try out the newest connected phones. We all know that the Android G2 aka HTC Magic mobile phone is already on its way. T-Mobile, still not satisfied with a couple has now planned for a third Android mobile phone.

Yup, got that right a G3! It seems the T-Mobile G3 will be coming from Huawei and is scheduled for a July 2009 release. From the looks of it, the G3 will be an Android phone for the low-cost mass market. Although these days, the definition of a low cost phone is also becoming more of what I’d call a connected phone. Initial specs seem to include a 5-megapixel camera, headphone jack and wifi.

Apple iPhone FM transciever + 802.11n combo

One thing I love about Apple, when they choose to enter a product space their attitude is — “Be the innovator or don’t”. The iPhone is an example of this attitude. Now it looks like they’re planning to put not only an FM receiver but also an FM transmitter into the iPhone. That is apart from what looks like a plan to also put in support for 802.11n wireless communication into the iPhone.

Getting an FM receiver is good for news, music stuff but an FM transmitter is great for some pretty cool usage scenarios.

For example, now you can depend more on your iPhone as a central storage of your music files. Want to listen to them on your high end car stereo? No problem, just turn on that FM transmitter and listen to the music on the car stereo just like you’d listen to other FM stations. Do you have one of those headsets equipped with an FM receiver? Now you can also listen to your own music in your iPhone.

Do you have a hi-speed wireless N lan at home? Now you can stream those music over the LAN (I hope).

T-Mobile phone releases, Sidekick Blade looks hot!

I’ve read over at TmoNews T-Mobile has released its scheduled phone releases for the coming months. What’s very interesting for me is the May 13 release date for Danger’s newest and greatest mobile phone — the Sidekick LX 2009. Why? As we all know, Microsoft acquired Danger a while back. I would have thought that since Microsoft’s acquisition, people over at Danger was busy porting Windows Mobile to the Danger platform.

Photos of connected phones from Nokia

I’ve just finished uploading photos of several cell phones from Nokia. In my opinion these are mobile phones that I would consider to be in the exclusive list of well connected phones that I am currently collecting. I’ll be updating the photo gallery to include other phone models from different cell phone manufacturers as well.
