In an effort to entice more developers in creating mobile apps for Nokia mobile phones, Nokia has published statistics about its OVI online app store. Nokia is the global market leader in terms of mobile phone sales. Over the past several years Nokia has been pushing to concentrate more on online services for its users. Mobile apps is a key ingredient to maintaining market leadership in the burgeoning smartphone market and in order to get apps it needs the help of mobile developers.

One feature of the new AppWorld that stands out is the ability for BlackBerry users to archive the applications they have into a microSD card. Apps on a BlackBerry smartphone is installed in the mobile phone’s flash memory, with the new archiving feature, you can store the app on the microSD™ card and restore it when you want to use it.
