It’s official. Over the coming weeks, the Android based Motorola DROID will be geting an OS update to version 2.2 aka Froyo via OTA. The update will be coming in two drizzles. The first one will upgrade the Motorola Droid Verizon connected phone’s firmware to Android version 2.2 also known as Froyo.
Samsung’s current Android super phone, the Samsung Galaxy S, has been more or less selling like hotcakes. SK Telecom in South Korea has already sold over 500,000 units of the Galaxy S in one month. The Galay S offers a big 800×480 pixel 4.0 inch display that uses Samsung’s Super AMOLED technology. It also uses Samsung’s fast ARM Cortex A8 1GHz processor.
It looks like a couple of Android updating issues have cropped up recently. One of them is regarding users of the T-Mobile G1 mobile phone. I4U has posted an article saying that T-Mobile G1 users may not be able to get updates beyond the current Android version 1.5 due to phone memory limitations according to an Android developer.
